Event: Child Outcomes Information Training Session
Location: Developmental Disabilities Resource Center (DDRC) - Twin Lakes Room 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

This training is necessary to ensure that all EI Coordinators and Service Coordination/Case Management Directors have the knowledge to support service coordinators and providers in fully understanding federal child outcomes data collection and reporting requirements. It will help your CCB prepare for the changes that will occur related to collecting and reporting child outcomes data and the implementation of the Child Outcomes Summary Form (COSF) in Colorado.

Note: This training is mandatory for all Early Intervention Coordinators, Service Coordination leads, and Case Management Directors. This registration is open only to those mentioned above or those designated to represent their CCB. This training is not appropriate for providers, training will occur for providers later in the fall.

Bring your own lunch. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

This training addresses required changes in procedures for how data is collected on child outcomes measurements for infants and toddlers receiving early intervention service and the use of the Child Outcomes Summary Form (COSF). As a result of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe various purposes for collecting and reporting child outcomes data
  • Understand the COSF process
  • Understand how the COSF process can be integrated into the IFSP process
  • Adopt and implement the COSF process
  • Please come prepared to discuss and describe the functioning of a child with whom you work, who has entered services in the last 2 or 3 months, and whom you know fairly well. Bring any information you have about the child, including recent assessment data, observation notes, or other records that might help you remember and think about the child's functioning. We will be using the example in an exercise to practice thinking about the child's social relationships, learning and problem solving, and ability to get his or her needs met across various settings. You will NOT be sharing the records or any written materials with others, so one copy is enough, you must remove the child's name or mark out the name of the child and any other confidential information from any files you bring.

  • Medical and developmental issues of the infant with special needs: impact on families (part 1) (presented by Megan Berson, MD)
